It was a school foundation day. A month before, a teacher of my former school asked me if I can help them to create a choreography for a cheer dance that will be perform by the students. A group of students, a combination of grade one students, grade two, and grade six. I started searching for different and latest dance craze and asked my friends and listen to the radios for the latest. I also watch television shows. I search the internet for the new dance steps and routine for a cheer dance.
First I listed the songs, I arranged them by categories from fast to slow. If which is for the girls and which fits for the boys. Then i think of the rest song, the in between beat of every songs. Then I search for the dance steps. I study each steps I just make it simple easy to learn for those little children. And for those teenagers like in grade six level a little complicated steps. At last I finished the arrangement of the interlude. Then already memorized the steps.
After their class I organized them and teach them the step. I first teach them steps for every song until they familiarizes it. Then finally I combined all the steps, then teach them final arrangements. At last they are ready to perform the cheer dance. I watched them on their performance day. They did perform what I really want in the results. Its was the best performance I’ve ever seen in that day. And they win, the group win, the student and their assigned teacher thank me. And told them I’m willing to help them again if they needed my ideas.
